Monday, Monday...April 13. Rainy, gray and a good day to drink a cup of tea and reflect.
What creates a life worth living?
These days, I am hyper-conscious of my inner world and more than ever am working to align with what feels right. This to me is about being and doing that which allows me to move in a sense of timelessness - what Mihaly Csikszentmihaly terms flow: "a state in which people are so involved in an activity that nothing else seems to matter; the experience is so enjoyable that people will continue to do it even at great cost, for the sheer sake of doing it” (1990).
Have you ever experienced this state of 'flow'? Is there something that you find so enjoyable that you lose track of time? Are you aware of what creativity is expressed through you so easily, that it takes almost no effort on your part at all?
Thinking back to when I first arrived in Vermont, I remember thinking how slowly time moved here. I had grown up in fast-paced environments, moving from city to city all over the world.
Being in a location that featured such laid-back energy was completely uncomfortable to me and I often wondered how anyone living here could get anything done! Now, after some 20+ years, I have adjusted to this flow and would not want things any other way.
This is the same type of situation that I am finding myself in now - with an awareness that if I can simply allow myself to gently flow with what is showing up, I will accomplish the work that my soul is here to do. My Source-Self connection will synchronously lead me to work on those things that require my energy with ease and grace. I can relax into trusting that everything will get done in Divine & Perfect Timing.
